Hello!

So, a couple of years ago, there was a big community dedicated to awarding prizes to the best of the best in Pirates of the Caribbean. Two years ago, it went on hiatus. This group was called potc_votes , and it is coming back!

With the release of the new movie and all the wonderful fanstuff that has come out, florencia7  and I decided to bring the comm back! Hopefully by Saturday we will have the first contest up an running.

The first contest will be a huge nominating/voting for the best fanfic around. All pairings, characters, kinks and loves will be accepted, as long as it fits into a category. When I post the nominations post, I will go further into how to nominate people.  This will be a summer long event, with many rounds.

At the end of the summer, the winners will be posted, and awards will be given out. But that won't be all! Keep a look out for drabble contests, video contests, secret santa and more!

Join the community! potc_votes

Title: "Ghosts of Memory" (1/1)
Author: luvvycat
Word Count: 1,500
Rating: PG13/R
Pairing: Elizabeth/Jack
Warning(s): None to speak of.
Challenge: #8: Ghost Stories
Summary: Sometimes they came to her in the dead of night... faded ghosts of a lifetime past...
A/N: This is a story I started writing for the Halloween "Ghost Story" Challenge (again, another late entry!), and am posting now in memory of my dear father, who passed away four years ago today. I think its themes of grief and the loss of a parent (two, actually, for Elizabeth) make it a fitting tribute for my dad, who never knew about my writing endeavours, but nevertheless continues, at times, to inspire them.

Once again, many thanks to The Charming and Delightful geekmamaTM, for her last-minute beta of this fic! As usual, this story has been significantly improved by her input, and any residual flaws or errors are entirely my own, and in no way reflect on the excellence of her beta skills!

Title: "The Devil in the Dark"
Author: luvvycat
Word Count: Part 1 - 4004; Part 2 - 4036
Rating: NC17
Pairing: Jack/Elizabeth (natch!)
Warning: Yes, you saw right -- NC17. That means smut. You heard me. Smut! ;-)
Challenge: #3: Erotica
Prompt: #7: Discovery - Jack and/or Elizabeth learning something new.
Summary: Jack decides to put a popular theory to the test. Little does Elizabeth know what is waiting for her, in the dark...
A/N: This is a story I started writing a year ago for The High Seas J/E Erotica Challenge, but couldn't complete in time for last year's Valentine's Day deadline. So here it is now, a year late, in honour of this Valentine's Day ("Alex, I'll take Better Late Than Never, for a thousand ...") ;-) Enjoy!

Many, many thanks to The Charming and Delightful geekmamaTM, for doing a bang-up job on beta-ing this at (practically) the last minute! As usual, this story has been significantly improved by her input, and any residual flaws or errors are entirely my own, and in no way reflect on the excellence of her beta skills!

This story is part of my "Rum and Persuasion" story cycle, and has references to ... interactions ... that occurred in those stories. Links to those stories can be found in my fiction index on my LiveJournal page.
